Instalasi WEBMIN

untuk isntalasi webmin dapat didownload pada www.webmin.com, pilih lah versi terbaru untuk instalasi weebmin, sebaiknya download paket dengan ekstendi tar.gz, adapun fersi terbaru saat ini adalah webmin-1.831.tar.gz

Langkah awal instalasi copy-kan file yang telah didownload, misal webmin.1.831.tar.gz ke /usr/local/src/.
[root@kkc src]# 1s
webmin-1.831.tar.gz
[root@kkc src]# tar zxvf webmin-1.831.tar.gz
[root@kkc src] 1s
webmin-1.831 webmin-1.831.tar.gz
[root@kkc src]# cd webmin-1.831.tar.gz
[root@kkc webmin-1.831.tar.gz# ./setup.sh

webmin is a web-based interface that allows unix-like

system and common unix services to be easily

instaling weebmin in /usr/local/src/webmin-1.831.tar.gz

webmin uses separate directories for configuration files and log files.
unless you want to run multiple version of webmin at the same time
you can just accept the defaults.

webmin is written entirely in perl. please enter the full path to the
perl 5 interpreter on your system.

webmin uses its own password protected web server to provide access
to the administarator programs. the setup script needs to know :
-what port to run the web server on. there must not be another
web serve already using this porrt.
-the login name required to access the web server.
-the password required to access the web server.
-if the webserver should use SSL (if you system supports it).
-whether to start webmin at boot time.

web server port (default 10000):
login name (dafault admin) : admin /// tekan enter

and login with the name and password you entered previously.

dari proses instalasi dapat dirincikan bahwa :
> file konifigurasi webmin terletak di /etc/webmin
> karena sistem operasi yang digunakan adalah linux redhat maka hal ini cocok dengan yang dideteksi webmin pada baris, namu webmin juga untuk cara instalasi pada ubuntu server hampir sama ada hanya mengikuti sedikit saja yang berbeda.
> untuk unistall jalankan printah
# /etc/webmin/unistall.sh
>webmin dapat di jalankan melalui client dengan menggunakan browser dengan alamat http:namaweb.com:10000 atau menggunakan http:IP_ADDRESS:10000, jika webmin belum dijalankan ketikan saja pada shell:
#/sbin/service webmin start
